Round 2! Single digit go!!

Hey guys! This long semester is finally over! Last final is on Friday, but I am finally back to caring about what I eat and the exercise I get to do everyday.

I will post progress periodically, (probably not daily), of my trek to ~8% bodyfat.

I am following the Westside for Skinny Bastards template as Joe DeFranco describes here: http://www.defrancostraining.com/articles/38-articles/65-westside-for-skinny-bastards-part3.html. Last intersession I had great success with this workout regime and I was able to put on ~20 lbs over a couple of months.

However, I never got around to cutting the fat from that bulking session, so this time I want to focus more on my diet. My goal is to maintain/gain muscle while cutting via cycling carbs. Feel free to google what carb cycling is. Without further ado, what I have done this week: (I will include diet and workout)

Sunday:

  • Ran ~4 miles
  • Repetition Upper Body (skipped grip training)
  • Played tennis

Tuesday (today):

  • Max effort Upper body
  • I was still quite sore from Sunday but I was lifting with my friend so I just ended up doing another upper body day anyways (not good).
  • Diet: (over the day)
  • Three slices of bread (two pb sandwiches)
  • Frozen mixed vegetables
  • Three eggs (omelette)
  • Four scoops of whey protein isolate
  • Frozen yogurt + mochi
  • Two clementines
  • Two warheads (the candy. this is probably negligible amount of calories)

Since today was a lift day, I was a little more liberal with my carbohydrates. I don’t plan to count carbs so closely; body recomposition is a slow and steady process. Tomorrow will be mostly protein and more fibrous vegetables. My biggest concern is still not being able to get enough proteins, and I want to stay away from soy protein due to the estrogen.

Body weight: ~165 lb. (this is just a reference # that I took just now. I expect weight to fluctuate).

As for real life related events, I was rejected from auditioning for the concerto competition, so I will have time to dance and study CS over the break. Not too disappointed—looking at the positives! Also, finals suck.
